Katie King
Onboarding & FHP Coordinator
Hi, I’m Katie! I’ve been with KPI for a year and a half, and it has truly been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Before joining KPI, I worked as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for three years, which is where my passion for this field really began. At KPI, I serve as a Family Home Provider (FHP), where I support our providers and help ensure our participants receive the highest quality of care possible. I also oversee Personnel, managing the onboarding and hiring process for new providers. So if you’re interested in joining KPI, I’m the person you’ll want to connect with! One of my favorite parts of this role is meeting new people and building meaningful relationships. The passion I have for this work, and for KPI specifically, makes it a job I’m genuinely happy to wake up to every day. I look forward to continuing to grow our KPI family, bringing in dedicated individuals who want to make a difference. Every new team member means another opportunity to impact lives positively, and that’s what this work is all about.

Shmieka Hurst
FHP Coordinator
Hi! I’m Shmieka, KPI’s Family Home Provider Coordinator! I’ve worked as a DSP, CA, PCC, and Family Home Provider (FHP) for over 8 years. In my current role, I oversee the FHPs who support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I recruit providers and help coordinate placements for participants who require support services. My work has been extremely rewarding and, at times, emotional in the best way. I truly enjoy having the opportunity to support our individuals and to become part of their communities. As I often say, “it brings me joy watching a person you care about grow and change because of the work you offer and loving what you do.” My goal is to take the time to really get to know our FHPs/AFCs and ensure that participants are well matched so that both the individual and the provider have the support they need to be successful.

Kendra Buford
Medical Assistant
Hi I'm Kendra! I’m passionate about my role at KPI because I truly care about making a difference in the lives of the individuals we support. Being able to coordinate medical care, stay organized, and support both participants and staff is something I take pride in every day. I love being part of a team that is dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care and creating a positive impact!

Tara Jackson
CMA Certified Medical Coordinator
Hi! I’m Tara Jackson, and I’ve been a Family Home Provider with KPI for 4 years and, in the past year, joined KPI's support team as our Certified Medical Coordinator. Opening my home to support individuals has allowed me to provide not only care and stability but also a true sense of belonging. In my dual role, I’m able to support individuals both in their daily lives and with their medical needs, ensuring their health, safety, and overall well-being are always a top priority. Working with KPI has given me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships while delivering person-centered care. As a Certified Medical Coordinator, I help oversee medications, coordinate appointments, and advocate for the best possible healthcare outcomes. As a Family Home Provider, I focus on creating a supportive, home-like environment where individuals can grow in independence and confidence. Throughout this journey, I’ve grown both personally and professionally, gaining valuable experience and a deeper understanding of the impact this work can have. One of the most rewarding parts of what I do is seeing the progress and happiness in the individuals I support. Whether it’s celebrating small milestones, ensuring their medical needs are met, or simply sharing everyday moments, those experiences are what remind me why I truly love what I do.
